Welcome to the TSL QB Power Rankings!

This week we have the top FIFTEEN quarterbacks in the League, as well as a “League-wide Team Power Ranking” that we tried and liked a couple seasons ago, where we’ll rank every team in the League from best to worst.  That means your team WILL be in this article somewhere, even if you don’t have a Top 15 QB.

Enjoy!

We were assuming that Bobby McConnell vs Mike Thomas would be for the #1 spot in the Rankings, but Bobby wasn’t able to attend last week, so we’re defaulting to the QB that won that last head-to-head matchup.  The defending D1 champion doesn’t lose his spot when he’s still undefeated this season!

Thomas doesn’t get to move up in the Power Rankings this week, but the Sticky Bandits are the only undefeated team left in D1, so he gets a big boost in the Standings at least.

Are we all sleeping on Legends right now?  It feels like we’re all sleeping on Legends.  They’ve won 6 of the last 9 championships and their only loss this season was to Eyes Downtown when they were short-handed.  Does anyone feel like this is NOT the team to beat in D1?

Ryan, Garrett and Buddy all fall into the next tier of QBs, and honestly you can take your pick who you like the most (we were heavily split on this).  This is the strongest D1 has ever been (since we started ranking QBs at least) from top to bottom.

The top two point differentials in the League belong to Victorious Secret (+104) and Bullet Club (+73).  What do they have in common?  If you said “they should be playing in higher divisions” we would accept that answer, but “Jordan Lawson is their QB” is ALSO a correct answer.

Bridget reccked Ricky on Saturday, and almost beat an undefeated D1 team as well.  That’s a good day at the office.

The Malones haven’t been as dominant without Andy Strug… but they haven’t been push-overs either.  Malones vs Can’t Touch This was a D2 classic revisited in D1 last week, and both teams looked strong.  Is it because they’re two second tier D1 teams on the same level?  Or are they just great athletes finding their way in a new division or with a new QB?  We’re not sure he’s on Andy’s level (yet) but Rhace had the offense moving last week.

The System has played BQI and Bullet Club in the past two weeks, and lost both games with 14-16 points scored and 34-37 points against.  We’ll give them credit for consistency, but they’d probably like to actually WIN these games against top D2 teams at some point.  We wonder if Joe Miano misses all his Jabronies talent right now…

DXYZ were apparently somewhat short handed on Saturday, which doesn’t help Damien’s ranking.  But other than their miracle playoff run last Spring, they’re 2-9 in their last 11 regular season games.  Saving it all for playoffs, maybe?

I’d Rather Be Golfing feels more like a project than an actual contender, but David Eickhoff’s other team Grey Hair – Don’t Care looks like a powerhouse in D3 right now.  They also look like they’d have been competitive in D2!  Is this their division to lose?

Let’s Get Reccked are the only winless team in D2 at the moment, but they’re too talented to stay that way.  They’ll break through with a win eventually, but do they have a chance at the championship?  Seth is a TOP level athlete… but D2 is too stacked to give these guys much of a chance unless they make some changes.

Mark Dalfonso is tough to rank at the moment, because Mike’s Detailing has one loss against the top seeded team in their division, one “this is kind of a forfeit” win against Cobblestone, and one “this is definitely a forfeit” win against Buffalo Vice.  How good are they?  We have no idea!  Much of Mark’s ranking right now is how good he has been in recent sessions (which was, of course, very good).

Buffalo Vice took a forfeit loss this week… and they had a forfeit win against Cobblestone in Week 1.  So like Mike’s Detailing, they’ve only played one real game, which they lost by a point to Practice Squad.  So why is Andy on our Top 15 and not B?  Believe us, we were split on this one.  With greater sample size, the better QB will be obvious eventually!

Team Power Rankings

Is every team in your division better than every team in the division below it?  Could you beat any of the teams in the division above you?  We’ll never know, since there are no Crossover games scheduled this session, but it’s fun to think about!  This is our attempt at ranking all 45 teams in the League, based on three weeks of action.  Our only rule we tried to follow was that we couldn’t rank a team higher than another team ahead of them in their own division’s standings (in other words even if you think Legends are better than Eyes Downtown, we still can’t rank Legends higher because Eyes Downtown are above them in the standings).

Here it is!

Fancy Statistics Section

What do we always say?  “You're not getting any fancy statistics out of us until at LEAST Week Four, and even then we'll tell you the sample size is too small to be meaningful.”  Week Four is NEXT WEEK though, so you’re only 7ish days away from your first stat dump of the season.  It’s only a week, you can wait!

That's it for the TSL Power Rankings this week!  If you have any thoughts about QB rankings, or you want to make sure we know who's throwing for your team, please feel free to contact our good friend This email address is being protected from spambots. What's YOUR ranking?
